Context
I joined Cyborg AI in February 2025 as its founding and infrastructure engineer: responsible for product engineering end to end, and for the backend, scaling and AI department.
A founding engineer's job is not one job. It is whichever job is currently the reason the company cannot grow — and the skill is noticing which one that is before anybody asks.
What I did
Built and shipped product features across the stack while the user base expanded rapidly, and held 100% availability through the growth. Availability during a spike is mostly a design question answered months earlier — where state lives, what is allowed to be slow, what fails closed.
Built integration tools with Figma, Reddit and Canva, so the product met people inside the tools they already had open rather than asking them to come to it. That is distribution as an engineering problem: three surfaces, one product, one set of guarantees behind them.
Outcome
The startup went from double-digit revenue to $200–250K of annual revenue over the engagement, across a series of products, integrations and Figma plugins.
